Additionally, 13.3 million players have dabbled in multiplayer, 9.8 million played with the lemur in chapter 11, and 2 million players took a photo of Sully. 37 million people have played the game since launch in 2016, though it's likely that this was boosted through game rentals, game sharing, and more this seems a more realistic conclusion than the idea that each player bought their own copy of the game.
